About The Mountain and Me

Nature-Inspired Jewellery & Accessories — Made to Last

At The Mountain and Me, I create jewellery and accessories that are rooted in the natural world and made with care. Each piece is designed and handmade in my UK studio, using sustainable materials like FSC-certified bamboo and recycled silver.

I’ve had a deep love of nature and drawing since I was young, and that connection has never left me. These days, much of my inspiration comes directly from my own wildlife-friendly garden, where I spend hours sketching, planting, and observing the changes through the seasons. From the shapes of leaves to the flight of a moth, everything starts with time spent outdoors.

I work with bamboo because it's fast-growing, lightweight, and surprisingly strong — a responsible, renewable material that allows me to create bold, delicate designs without compromising on sustainability.

Made Slowly, with Purpose

This business began over nine years ago while I was a stay-at-home mum, carving out creative time between naps and school runs. What started as a small side project has grown into a full-time career I love. Today, my work is stocked by major cultural institutions across the UK, including Manchester Museum, Harewood House, The Whitworth Gallery, and The National Portrait Gallery shop.

Despite the growth, the heart of my work hasn’t changed. Every piece still begins with a pencil sketch, is painted and finished by hand, and packed by me using plastic-free packaging.

Jewellery with a Lighter Footprint

I don’t follow trends or chase fast fashion. Instead, I focus on making things that last — nature-inspired pieces with meaning, made slowly and sustainably. If you’re looking for jewellery that tells a story and leaves a lighter mark on the planet, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates with you.

We live on a smallholding in the UK, where my husband runs Herd and Elder — a business crafting natural goat milk soap, botanical vegan soap and hand-poured soy candles. I help with the candle-making side, and we share a commitment to thoughtful, sustainable making inspired by our surroundings. From garden to workshop, this slower way of living shapes everything we create.
